January 21:
So who's playing Aslan?

Turkish deeelight, anyone?

Aha, right after I wonder aloud if Tolkien's contemporary C.S. Lewis's Narnia series will ever reach the big screen, Ramon informs us that yes, the movie rights are being optioned. Walden Media has partnered with the C.S. Lewis company to bring "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" to feature films for the first time (it has been adapted for television in the past).

Wonderful! They're not releasing it until 2004 though so that gives us enough time to savor the LOTR trilogy.

On a different note, this is yet another sign of Disney's diminishing creativity. (Didn't 1991's Hook have a very similar premise?) As Arnold says, "Oh no, not another unoriginal 2-hour commercial for their merchandise."

Hello dear friends! (:
It's so cool to know that I'm certainly not alone in waiting for the fantastic Narnia series to be shown on the big screen!

i think i need to read the Narnia series again. it didn't serve any good memories for me... maybe because it was forced by my teachers. but yesss... need more time to savor Lord of the Rings (my precioussss) especially for late-viewers like me. i just saw the movie this past weekend for the first and second time. (i just *had* to read the book beforehand.) because of my previous avoidance of any spoilers (even down to the commercials), i can finally read your blog again! ;)

I loved LWW. I make sure to read it at least once every summer -- there's something about the series that I take with me everywhere -- especially the image of the faun standing by the lamppost. *sigh* I fear that the big screen won't do it justice -- I have it too fleshed out in my own imagination already....
