September 28:
Catching Up

Do you buy books, vcds and dvds on a whim then leave them unopened and sitting on your shelf, for consumption "on a rainy day"? I'm guilty of that myself but my prescribed bedrest this week provided a perfect opportunity for enjoying my loot.

So far I've watched 4 of the movies on my months-old To View list: The Untouchables, Bugsy, An Affair to Remember, and The Shop Around the Corner; read All The Right Moves about 5 times in an attempt to get a satisfying ending; finished 2 of the 5 Asterix books we got at the BookFair, plus read and re-read my old Tumbleweeds and Bloom County books and the Archie's Double Digests Vinnie very nicely sent thru Arnold when he found out I was sick.

Whew. So I guess I should shift back to working mode on Monday.

Just a reminder, film fans, CineEuropa is ending tomorrow. We were lucky enough to catch a few movies early this week. More on that on my next entry.

Get well soon!

I'm with you on the ever growing DVD stockpile... but being somewhat bedridden this sunday, I had the opportunity to catch up. Hope you're feeling better Cyn, and yeah, I loathe mondays as well -- manic it is ;-)

Mel Gibson's "Conspiracy Theory" describes me best when i get to see a bookstore or a record store. I can't come out without a purchase! You should see my unopened stash....

yes, i plead guilty too. that's why i try to stay away from record stores and bookstores because i know i will keep getting things i won't be able to read/watch immediately. and the big bummer is when you see the stuff you bought months, or even weeks ago on a markdown? hell! esp. now that a lot of them vcds are priced php150 na lang and i got mine for 250 or 300. blech.
