December 19: Parades and Popsicles.
This month's Adarna House E-zine has a nice feature on Arn. [Go]
***
As always, the UPCFA contingent made the Lantern Parade well worth the traffic and five-hour neck-straining ogling. Their theme this year? Superheroes, Pinoy and otherwise. The pics are right here. Please let me know if I identified all the characters right. (:
*** I was so pleased to find out last time that J Sushi also likes the Swedish group Popsicle as much (or maybe even more) than I do. I started liking them too late, though. They disbanded in '97 and sadly, there's hardly any info about them and their music online. I myself only have taped copies of their albums "Lacquer" and "Abstinence".
Then last night J and Halina gave Arn and me a chock-full-of-MP3s cd that, surprise, contains all the group's albums from '91 to '97, including some of their recordings as Sweet Chariots -- something I could never find at KaZaA or Amazon. What a treat! Grabe, thanks again you guys. I dedicate Sunkissed to you both. (:

Heidi: no problem, glad u liked them! I had so much fun squeezing in between the floats, like irritating paparazzi hehe.
Jessel: No I wasn't at the acoustic 'ek', umuwi na kami right after kasi we were so tired. BTW I think you and Alia have the same friend -- her friend also worked on that pinhead!
Hey Alia, it was so nice to finally meet you in person! Kulit natin yesterday (well Ruey was the makulit-est haha). Will post our pic next entry.

my friend was one of the FA students who made their lanterns. he and his classmates didn't eat nor sleep before the parade and he had to come to work with us right after. kaka-guilty. so i'm glad to hear that everybody loved their work. yey! :)

Re the Arki College mascot pic: nope, it's actually one of KAL's hideous puppets (and here I am, maligning my own college's lantern!). I recognize the stars and the bulbous yellow head.
By the way, can I hotlink the picture? I stupidly forgot to bring my camera last night. And I had a pretty good vantage point, too.
