Choco Chanel, anyone?

If you've been reading this blog long enough, you'll know that this is actually an unplanned follow up to my Kate Spade Cookies post of many many months ago.

And just when you thought we'd completely forgotten about the Mirror Project: [1] [2]

Everyone's been talking about Daredevil and Hero lately, but has anyone "noticed" Two Week's Notice at all? Anyway the only reason I'm mentioning it is that I stumbled upon this little tidbit that might be of interest to you film buffs: Alicia Witt who was June in Two Weeks played Alia Atreides in David Lynch's Dune. (Ahh, betcha didn't know that.)

Who woulda thunk it?

By the way: of all the movies we saw this first quarter, I liked Catch Me If You Can and Two Towers the most, and Arn says that Daredevil is the best comicbook superhero movie he's seen in the past two years.

Cynthia: I'm not familiar w/ Kingpin, but I wouldn't be surprised if it were filmed there. My building is Los Angeles City Hall -- they shoot a lot of stuff there (TV shows Alias & Westwing, Movies like Legally Blonde 2, Murder by Numbers, Anger Management) in various parts of the building beyond our office because the rent's cheap since it's government property.

Jenn: that is so
funny! I'm not an Affelck fan myself, heh. Is your
building the office where
they shot Kingpin's
scenes?

Here's an anecdote if you want it: They filmed Daredevil outside of our office door once early last summer. Then the head honcho of our office couldn't get out (because of the filming), got pissed off, called some departments, and instantly removed 2 days worth of set up and preparation within 5 minutes to get rid of the production. I can't stand affleck, so I was relieved to know he and his fanatics were out of our way, but the downside is that it forces me to have some respect for an overpaid, over-respected political-bureaucrat-snot of a boss. Additionally, to my surprise, in real life affleck's a tall one... and he looked really old. Maybe he just had a bad night, but I thought he was supposed to portray a 50-something year old (am not familiar w/ the series).
