April 07:
The Passion

Gosh, I nearly forgot all about this blog! Thanks for all the wonderful messages, I really really appreciate that you guys take time to visit even when there's nothing new to see. (Gulp, my bad).

***
Arn and I saw The Passion of the Christ the day after watching Jesus of Nazareth for a full eight hours so I guess you can imagine how enlightened we felt afterwards. It's true, no matter how many times you can tell yourself that "no, those aren't real welts -- it's just a movie", fact is all that barbarism really happened some 1,971 years ago. I hope the movie drove the point home to you as deep as it did to us.

***
Most out-of-place comment overheard while watching The Passion: "Ang ganda ni Monica Belucci*!" Naku naman...

*in English, for you non-Tagalog speakers: "Monica Belucci is so pretty!"

***
Oh yeah, I turned 32 a couple of weeks ago. How did I spend my birthday? Working on a tri-media advertising campaign pitch* for a telecom company with this agency. Shucks, I've been out of the ad biz for so long that I don't remember the last time I did that (work on a pitch on my birthday, I mean). Seriously, it was cool working with young -- and old, hehe -- creative minds again.

*If you've ever been in advertising, you know what that spells -- overnighters galore. My poor hubby had to drive me to and from the office in his jammies at ungodly hours.

***
Thankfully I did manage to have three birthday dinners though -- with my dear Arn; with Mama, Papa and Calvin; and with Mom, Dad and Jing (see, marriage blesses you with three sets of families, how wonderful is that?)

***
Now that we live with cats, I told Arn that I now understand how Jim Davis or our friend Robert Magnuson can never run out of ideas for their comic strips. Cats are such adorable, funny-without-meaning-to-be little creatures and every encounter with them aches to be turned into an anecdote.

Delilah, our very own Garfield. He (yup, Dely's a he) does nothing but sleep, eat and groom himself all day.

Family shot. Once we caught Mommy and Daddy cat mating right in front of little kitty, how bizarre.

Extended family shot. That's my bagong-gising look, by the way.

Extended family shot #2. Arn and Meowie who, incidentally, is living up to her name... meowing! all! the! time!
