A few years ago I wrote the fabulous Jill Bliss an email telling her how much I loved her album cover and website designs. She wrote back with equally nice things to say about my work (-- how very pleasant of her huh? Or maybe she was just being polite, heh). Now if I write again saying how much I love her Blissen line she might take me for a stalker, so I thought I'd just share the link with yous.

Ooh, candy-colored finger huggers.

You know what I don't like about the rainy season? The frog-singing -- it really creeps me out.

That plus you know that they're suddenly all over the place.

Note: Whenever a frog is in our path usually I just hide behind my Arn, he always knows what to do.

Sorry, I know I'm so behind, but I only discovered this very entertaining LJ a few days ago! Showbeez, haha.

Am loving Ambriel Floyd's stuff.

Tons of work, church requirements, my recurring asthma, and our million and one errands are keeping us away from hanging out with friends and surfing the net like we used to. I'm so out of the loop now that I only learned about Jim and Nicole yesterday! Geez. Whilst I ponder that, Arn prefers to busy himself digesting The Architect's monologue. (He liked the movie, by the way, and has been talking about it almost non-stop!)

Did you know that in order to get married, you have to present new copies of your baptismal certificates? Meaning, if you're originally from somewhere in Ilocos, you'll have to brave the 8-hour drive, all the while praying that the church you were baptized in still exists! Lucky for us, Arnold and I were baptized in Makati and Quezon City respectively so it wasn't too much of a hassle --we just paid minimal processing fees (P30-50/certificate), waited a few minutes, and were all set.

Now all we need to do is attend those day-long seminars *groan*.

Domino's Fair Tales album is finally out! Her music is definitely delightful ear candy so please do pick up a copy.

domino

*I'm not sure if I should reveal her identity yet, but for those who are curious, Domino is the lovely & talented sister of a certain ultraelectromagneticpopular rock band vocalist (guess who?). Arn and I certainly had the pleasure of working with her on the project, many thanks to her kuya for calling on us of course. (:

Please congratulate my baby brother Calvin as he will be a bona fide 9-to-6-er come Monday! He was recently hired by TOEI Animation Philippines as a Japanese-English anime translator -- in other words, he'll get to see tons of new episodes of TOEI-produced stuff before they're even shown here. Can you say dream job? Prior to this he was being considered for hiring at the JRA Japanese Club in Buendia. Seems to me that his 3-year highschool stint in Japan is finally amounting to something.

Arn and I dropped by Halina's birthday dinner last week and must've gained 5 lbs. each feasting on the wonderful home-cooked carbonara, spicy pasta, barbeque, and yummy veggie biscuits with shawarma dip. Thanks and happy birthday again, Halins! We enjoyed your party a bunch. (:

Two days ago I attended a beautiful wedding. Never mind that the couple did not know me from squat*, I still had a great time observing and mentally taking down notes for my own altar date later this year. The dinner reception was held at Fernwood Gardens and gee, no wonder it's almost fully booked for 2003, the place is beautiful! It's like a tropical rainforest, complete with parrots and waterfalls and rainbow-colored fish, but I think the selling point is the skylight dome-roof that lets you party without worry, rain or shine.

*They got my mom as Principal Sponsor. Since my dad is out of the country, I became her official chauffeur and chaperone.

My mom's former consultees (Pedia residents), upon meeting me for the first time: "Hi Cynthia, graduate ka na ba?" Eep, I'm probably older than most of them.

One of my best girl-friends Sheila and her hubby Mike's brainchild, the McDonald's "Simbang Gabi" TV commercial (which aired late last year) won not one, not two, but three awards at the recently held Creative Guild Awards: Best in Art Direction/Production Design, Best Cinematography, and the coveted TV Ad of the Year award. They're also the winning team behind the mega-popular "Karen po" TVC. Galing nyo talaga!

My claim to fame: I was part of their 1997 wedding's entourage, naks (:

Arn and I attended yet another wedding fair, our second for this year, at Le Pavilion last weekend. We love going to these events because (1) admission is free (for engaged couples); (2) discounts are offered when you book on the spot; and (3) freebies are free-flowing! (Freebies could mean anything from video samplers on vcd to trips for two to HongKong -- although the latter does not sound like such a good idea at this point yeah?) If you're on the lookout for cool wedding-related ideas, I recommend that you attend at least one of these fairs. The next big one is in July, I think. Better go to w@w for up-to-the-minute news.
