Self-gratifying photo of the week:
*Thank you thank you kuya twin!!! We labs you!

Ahoy Miyazaki fans, The Cat Returns/Neko no Ongaeshi is just too precious not to see. It's almost as light and dreamy as My Neighbor Totoro though not quite as dark as Spirited Away. Watch it, preferably with kitty on your lap.

I finally got my hands on Andi Watson's Love Fights vol. 1. I don't think I can ever say anything bad about his stuff and this book is certainly not an exception. Relationship issues in a world where real superheroes exist? Alright, Spiderman and Superman tackled that too but then again how can you say no to the man who wrote the Breakfast After Noon? Besides, this is most definitely not a mainstream Marvel-type comic -- it's light and funny and there are no overly-muscular-heroes-in-tights type characters. (Oh, and BAN fans will get a special treat somewhere towards the end of Love Fights vol. 1). Bitin nga lang, I can hardly wait for vol. 2 to come out.
*** Tasks accomplished in the three or so weeks that I didn't blog -- like you'd all be interested durr: ï Devoured 8 palm e-books, 7 belonging to the... err... chicklit genre; last one being a cat care manual ï Churned out 3-page comic for Monra's project ï Worked on TV ad campaign that spanned 2 weeks of development, reporting for work even when I had the flu (Naks, pa-martyr! Shei had to urge me to go home.) ï Cared for dear hubby when he got the flu for a week ï Watched (in no particular order): The Cat Returns, Chronicles of Riddick, Prisoner of Azkaban, Road to Wellville, The Paper, Everyone Says I Love You, What's Eating Gilbert Grape, The Fisher King

In honor of the famous fat cat's live action movie, here's a link to all, yes, all the Garfield strips from January 2000 onwards.
The screensaver is a must-download, by the way. And you know what, I'm really looking forward to the movie, never mind that it also stars Jennifer Love...
In case you didn't catch the AI3 finale where Jennifer co-emceed, here's a taste:
Hewitt: (to Jasmine Trias) Hawaii is my favorite place in the world!!!!!!!!!
Trias: Oh God, it's the best!
Hewitt: You rock!

*** Ayayay. Our issues on the local movie industry need to be shoved into the back pocket for a while as we support family* and watch All My Life this weekend (unless of course Harry weaves his magic and draws us to watch his movie instead). It seems promising and even Arn, who considers Aga one of the best actors in local cinema, is quite keen on seeing it. Let's see.
*Direk Lauren is my cousin's hubby.
